SLIDING SCALE
We are committed to making this event accessible to all who are interested to participate. The top end of the sliding scale is closer to the actual cost of the event and we encourage you to invest at that level if you can. That makes it possible for those who are not able to invest as much to also participate. Registration fees help cover the guest honorariums, plane tickets, space rental, and food. This is a volunteer-led event. There are currently no paid staff and this is a labor of deep love. However, we hope in the future to be able to compensate people for their contributions in making this event possible so we can sustain it for the long term. We will not turn away anyone for lack of funds. Please contact us if you would like to find ways to offer reciprocity outside of money.
CODE OF CONDUCT
The quality and safety of our participants’ experience at Grounded in Freedom is very important to us, Ayeko Farm and Union Cultural Center. While we will do our best to provide a good experience, we know it is the collective effort that will ensure we are interacting with respect and dignity. We will not tolerate any violence or sexual harassment at the event. If you experience any harmful behavior during your time at the conference, please speak with Deepa, Mestre Silvinho, or Leika to provide support and hold accountability.
