Grounded in tradition and cultural roots, Samba Raiz explores the essence of Brazilian samba through movement, rhythm, and community. These Monday classes focus on building strong foundations while honoring the ancestry and elegance of samba.
The evening begins with Samba no Pé (Beginner) at 6:30 PM, where students develop posture, rhythm, and essential footwork while learning the core movements that shape samba.
At 7:30 PM, the class transitions into Samba de Roda com Saia (bring your own skirt), where dancers explore circular energy, expressive movement, and traditional skirt technique rooted in Afro-Brazilian cultural practices.
Together, these classes emphasize rhythm, posture, cultural context, and joyful connection through dance, offering a welcoming space to deepen your relationship with samba.
